STEPS TO AN ALKALINE DIET


As on date there is no dearth of the fans of the alkaline diet. Everybody who wants to live a healthy life it is necessary to learn about pH, means the acid and alkaline balance in the body, and say farewell to the standard acidic diet.

However, it is easier said than done. In this little article we shall evaluate the ways to easily start the alkaline diet and then to stick it too.   • You must start on the diet slowly, taking small steps one by one. It is always better than going whole hog and then get tired early.

  • This diet has to be so adopted to fit your lifestyle, as it will never be possible to fit your lifestyle to this new diet.


HYDRATION

In order to keep the body pH high one must drink lots of water. Normally in busy lifestyle we drink very little water. This has a very bad effect on the health, vitality, energy and immunity of our body. So start drinking lots of water and keep your system well hydrated. For this, one has to drink almost 10-15 glasses of water every day. Also once a day drink lemon juice water by adding ½ lemons in 1 cup lukewarm water. This helps in cleaning the digestive system and reduces excess acid in the body. Lemon water results in alkaline formation in body.


SHIFTING TO LOTS OF GREENS

 The alkaline diet means taking such foods. Normally the foods like fresh leafy green vegetables, salads, nuts, low-sugar fruits, seeds, and high water content foods are called alkaline ones. And foods as meat, poultry, eggs, cheese, fish, dairy items, sugar, caffeine, white bread, chocolate, alcohol, chips, cream, pizza, burger etc. are acidic foods.  For a healthy balance takes 80% alkaline foods and 20% acidic foods.


SLOW TRANSITION

 If you are on a heavy acidic diet them transition to alkaline diet has to be slow and steady. If you try to jump to 100% alkaline diet on day one they you will soon feel hungry thus weakening your resolve to continue. This may lead to failure within a week. The slow transition will ensure that you are able to continue doe long and also allowing you and your body to slowly get used to this new life style.


TAKING LOTS OF OXYGEN

It is always preferred that along-with the alkaline diet one must adopt an exercise schedule to be done at least twice a day. If you are not inclined to do heavy workouts then light breathing exercises are also very useful as they will increase the oxygen level in the body. Some simple Pranayam exercises are the best choice for this.
 
The alkaline diet is not very difficult when followed slowly especially if you go for 80/ 20 balance between an alkaline and acidic diet. It is very necessary that to succeed you must enjoy it. It should not be taken a punishment.
