The AbRipperX consists of 11 core-strengthening exercises,
amounting to 220 repetitions in 16 minutes. Your heart rate is consistently
raised, allowing you to burn more calories and fat. It can burn up to 600
calories per session.
The AbRipperX burns abdominal fat by targeting the three
abdominal muscles: the transverse abdominis, rectus abdominis, and obliques.
The exercise is part of the P90X program and is particularly designed to
strengthen the ab muscles. Burning calories by doing these exercises results in
fat loss from the abdomen. This lowers your risk for heart disease, high blood
pressure, and high cholesterol. Having a stronger core also promoted better
posture, stability, and lung function.
AB RIPPER-X |
You should perform the exercises every other day. The P90X program
is a 13-week program and if combined with a healthy diet, the AbRipperX
claims to build tone muscle and burn calories and fat in 90 days.
It should be noted that the amount of calories you burn, although
600 is the average, depends on your weight, age, and intensity level. If you do
the whole P90X workout, including the AbRipperX, you could potentially
burn a total of 1,000 calories in one workout session.
If you want to create more of a calorie deficit, the P90X program
has a nutrition plan that consists of 3 phases. The phases move from a higher
protein and lower carbohydrate intake, to a more balanced mixture of proteins
and carbohydrates as you progress with the plan. The phases are designed to
accompany the P90X program in burning stored fat and building lean muscle. More
detailed information about the phases:
1. Phase 1: Fat
Shredder – the phase jumpstarts weight loss by introducing meals with low
calories. For the first 4 weeks, carbohydrates are completely removed and
protein is increased for muscle building.
2. Phase 2:
Energy Booster – carbohydrates are reintroduced to keep energy levels high for
the workouts. Protein intake stays high to prevent muscle weakness.
3. Phase 3:
Endurance Maximizer – This is an optional phase – if you want to progress to
where you increase muscle endurance and muscle gain, you may want to do this
phase, but it isn’t required. This phase further increases carbohydrate intake
for stamina.
It should be noted that the AbRipperX may not be for
beginners just starting out with abdominal and core exercises. If you aren’t
already somewhat physically fit, the AbRipperX may pose some problems
for you at first, but stick with it, because eventually you will get used to it
and see results. You may not see results for a few weeks, depending on how many
days a week you commit to the exercise program and how intense your workouts
are. It is not recommended for people who have low pain tolerance, or those
suffering from back, neck, spinal, or abdomen injuries.
The exercise program of the P90X and AbRipperX improves the
strength and conditions the abdominal muscles. However, if you are counting
calories, you will need to follow the P90X nutritional program (or some other
diet program) and consume the adequate amount of nutritional and food supplements.
